Life is filled with transitions and one can make plans and develop agendas to carry out those plans. There are times when we are just not up to the challenge physically or mentally. These times require me to seek God for strength. He is my strength, He is my provider, and He lifts me in my moments of despair.
I have found the meaning of David’s plight when he said, “I will lift my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.”
All of my help comes from the Lord. Knowing and studying the word of God is essential when you are young. As you start to mature in life and moments of despair come to you, you may not remember where the scripture is in the Bible. But God will bring back His words to you to remind you that He will never leave nor forsake you.
How wonderful it is to have that assurance that we can seek Him through His word.
Including God in every aspect of our lives, our family, our dreams, our hopes, activities, and everything we aspire to will not complete and control our minds. When we give God our long-range dreams and aspirations, they no longer occupy our thoughts.
Now, I am learning to lay my fears, my wants, my plans, and my troubles before God, and every day, He wakes me up. I will give my plans to God and trust in Him. He works in me to conform my ways to His, and my plans to His, so that His purpose in me may be fulfilled through me.
The commitment part is the most important and most difficult task for me.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I commit my dreams, goals, and plans to You. Lord, help me to let go of the ideals that You know are not good for me and my walk with You. Help me to depend on You when my way is cloudy, asking You Jesus to make my crooked path straight, give me the courage to keep reaching for You even when I do not feel Your presence, I know that I am lost without You and today this morning, I receive You to guide my every footstep, calm my fears and let me have peace in You.
Now, Lord, I commit and I submit to You my body, soul, and mind, You can use them at your will.
Finally, Jesus, with my heart, take it, use it, make it Yours. Make Your thoughts my thoughts, and Your ways my ways, so that I may walk faithfully in Your purposes for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
